Kowhai Intermediate Project

Kowhai Intermediate was established in 1922 as a first Intermediate school in New Zealand. We have almost 600 year 7 and 8 students attending the school.

We are applying to have the flooring in our Music Room replaced. No one has any idea how long the flooring has been there. It could even be possible that the flooring dates back to 1921 when the building was built. We have a mixture of various types of flooring in the building. Mostly covered with fixed cloth/fabric, some covered with leftover cloth/fabric, and some not covered at all with wooden floor exposed.

Proper carpet would make a whole world of difference and underlay to dampen the thumping sound when walking around would greatly help keeping the room nice and quiet for things like recording and practicing on musical instruments.
