Riverhead Scout Group
“Riverhead Scout Group, based in Riverhead (but with members from Riverhead, Huapai, Kumeu, Waitakere, Whenuapai, West Harbour and Coatesville areas), currently has 86 youth members aged 5 to 17yrs. Although we fall under the ScoutsNZ umbrella, as with all Scout Groups, our Group is run and led by local volunteers from our community. All our activities, premises and equipment are funded from fundraisers, a small term fee to our members and the generosity of potential supporters such as Carpet Court.
We are currently undergoing a major renovation of our Basement where we have had significant drainage and damp related issues for many years but are lucky to currently have a committee with an appetite to get it fixed for today’s members and future members. Once finished, this will be fantastic for storage of our essential activity and camping gear etc which to date we’ve had to store off site or crammed elsewhere in the Den. We are well progressed with the project and have been supported to date by local businesses that have donated labour and / or equipment to progress the project. Our wish is for a good quality, durable carpet that can withstand heavy traffic whilst being comfortable too, hence our request for help to Carpet Court in the hope they could help us achieve our goal!”
