George Street Kindergarten
We are a small semi-rural centre with remarkable children, inspiring environments and quality teachers. Our large outdoor environment offers a great natural play space that allows inquisitive minds to develop and grow amongst nature. We believe that children learn through play. Through thoughtfully planned experiences children are encouraged to explore, experiment, discover and solve problems in imaginative and playful ways. We provide experiences which support children’s developing knowledge of numeracy and literacy. We embrace cultural diversity, learning about and celebrating our similarities and differences. We are proud to be a member of Enviroschools – teaching children ways to care for the environment. In partnership with parents and the local community we work to build a strong foundation for your child’s journey of lifelong learning.
We are would like to replace old rugs. The rugs cover our lock/mat time area and the family play space. What we currently have is old, warn and grubby. The
family play rug doesn’t even cover the whole area. We are wanting to tidy up the areas and create more homely spaces. After years of heavy use, the carpet is worn and faded, and not very inviting. Our children spend lots of their time working and playing on the floor, and we would like to make this more comfortable and
hygienic for them.
The RhinoKids Flooring Fund would allow us to put the money towards resources for the children. We are wanting to get more sandpit resources and a new mud kitchen sink area as what we have is old and breaking. This is a very loved area and would be of great benefit to the Tamariki if it was upgraded.

“It was a pleasure to assist George St Kindergarten in making their centre more comfortable, and homely for their children. Myself & our installer Jackson delivered new, overlocked rugs to the centre. All the children were so engaged and excited to see what we were adding! It was beautiful to be apart of, the tamariki sitting back and observing as we laid rug grip, and the carpet on top to follow. As soon as we gave them the all clear the children jumped, ran and danced all over their rugs. I’m grateful to have been apart of this – this addition to the centre was very loved & appreciated.”
