Mangatawhiri Playgroup Project

Mangatawhiri Playgroup is a parent run playgroup with 25  students enrolled. We would love to refresh our carpet area that currently has two large carpet mats that are old, stained and not that comfortable for the kids to play on, lie on and read books. It would be great if we knew that where the children and babies were laying was clean and safe.

If we were successful in receiving the RhinoKids Flooring Fund we would love to invest in a new shade sail so the kids can play outside without being in direct sunlight, it would make such a huge difference to our tamariki.

When we found out we had won the RhinoKids Flooring Fund for some new carpet we were absolutely thrilled! The new rugs we got from Carpet Court are so soft and fluffy and mums with little babies now feel comfortable to let their wee ones lie and roll around on the ground! It also made our centre smell so fresh!! Nikita from Carpet Court was so great with her communication and everything happened so smoothly! We will treasure this carpet for years to come!

Jodie Campbell, President, Mangatawhiri Playgroup

When selecting the winner for the RhinoKids Flooring Fund this year there were many well deserving centres to choose from. Mangatawhiri Playgroup won our hearts over, especially as they are a not-for-profit group and run by parents. When I phoned Jodie to let her know they were selected, she was so overjoyed! The following days I visited the centre to discuss what they were looking for, and decided rugs were the best way to go as they are located within a community shared hall so could pop the rugs away if there was an event. The current rugs were thin, dated and stained. The rugs we were able to provide were made from Rhino carpet that is thick, comfortable and will help with the any future stains. Being able to help Mangatawhiri Playgroup was a true blessing, and I look forward to being able to contribute to another centre next year.
