Methven Playcentre Project

Methven Playcentre is a small parent led centre where the kids learn through play.We cater for ages 0-5 years, we have roughly 18 families enrolled, consisting of 29 children. The majority of the money our centre makes is through the families fundraising.

The carpet we are needing is for an existing space in our centre. Our centre is just one big room, we have tried to make areas in the room for different play resources and ages. The area we need carpeted is for the under 2’s/cosy area where we currently have 2 very old, thin rugs. It is cold and uncomfortable leaving small small babies on the old mats. Being able to carpet this space would majorly improve our centre and would be more comfortable, warm, cozy and inviting for families with younger children/babies.

If we win this grant it would be a massive boost as we could put the money that we were putting aside for this carpet towards a new shade sail for our outdoor area as we currently have nothing
to protect our precious children from the sun in the warmer months.

We are so thankful to the team at Carpet Court Ashburton for the wonderful new carpet at Methven Playcentre. Their friendliness, service and communication was exceptional and we would highly recommend their services to others. The carpet has given our centre a really nice feel in an area that felt very cold and uninviting. It is now an area that is a favourite of our tamariki, it is warm, soft and comfortable for everyone to explore and play, you may even find the odd parent or two sat down and enjoying it as well.
