Queens Preschool

We are a small centre located in the beautiful suburb of St. Clair. We pride ourselves on giving children and their families a home away from home. Our centre is licensed for 29 children aged from birth to 6 years. We cater for those families that understand that smaller group sizes have beneficial effects on their child’s holistic development. We are also a not for profit preschool, meaning we run very tight books, there is never a lot of funds left over to help with upkeep of the building and we rely on fundraising and grants to support this.

We have a mix of carpet and linoleum in our center. While it all will need replaced shortly, there are three areas of lino that require urgent attention. Some of these areas are over 20 years old and are high foot traffic spaces. The planking in the baby room is between 5 and 10 years old, however it is one of the areas needing urgently replaced as it was not commercial grade flooring that was installed and has worn very quickly. It is lifting in places and becoming unsafe. The current flooring is very worn. It is hard to clean and becoming unsafe for our tamariki. We need to replace it urgently to meet ministry requirements.

If we are successful in receiving the RhinoKids Flooring Fund it would mean that we could upgrade the other areas of flooring, at the same time, using the fundraising money or we could continue to use the fundraising money for needed resources.

“On behalf of everyone at Queens Preschool, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for the generous grant that allowed us to install new carpet and lino in our infant and toddler room.

The new flooring has made a noticeable difference in creating a warmer, more comfortable environment for our little ones. The soft, fresh carpet provides a cosy space for infants to crawl and explore safely, while the durable lino makes clean-ups easier and keeps the room looking bright and inviting. Our teachers have also found that the improved flooring contributes to a calmer, quieter atmosphere, enhancing the overall learning experience for the children.

We are incredibly grateful for your support, which has helped us create a more nurturing and practical space for both our children and educators. Thank you for investing in the well-being and development of our preschool community.”
