What are the benefits of polyester carpet?
Polyester fibres are naturally great for stain resistance and outperforms both nylon and wool in this regard. It also has a reputation for velvety softness that is not only highly comfortable beneath the feet, it also feels lush and delivers a sense of luxury. Plus, you will have less problems with static electricity generation than many other carpet fibers.
A big benefit to polyester carpet is it comes at a lower cost. Polyester can make for a great carpet choice for homeowners on a budget, or if you know your carpet going to get destroyed and want to save on cost.
What to know and consider when buying polyester carpet?
Polyester carpet is not as durable as other carpet fibres and is best suited to low traffic areas. In high traffic areas it will start to look worn and matt quickly and when placed under heavy objects like furniture, polyester is likely to matt and won’t spring back as other materials like nylon do.
Although polyester carpet has good stain resistance, this is not the case when it comes to oil-based stains. These will be difficult to remove and will likely require professional assistance.
Where should I use polyester carpet in my home?
